Martial Arts
"Martial arts" is a collective term which include each discipline about the self defence and the fighting arts in Asia. Mainly, I will tackle the case of Japan.
The most famous types are Judo, Sumo, Karate, Aikido and Jujitsu and they are classified in three groups :
- Martial arts with punches, strikes and kicks like Karate
- Martial arts with grips like Judo, Sumo, Jujitsu and Aikido
- Martial arts with weapons like kyudo and kendo
I'm going to speak about Jujitsu which means "flexibility, technical" is a martial art developed by Samurais, as part of military, in order to enable them to defend themselves without weapons whereas the opponent has his own arms. In those days, his purpose was to be used in battle or fight situations but then, this activity was extend to others disciplines and it have been considering more spiritual. Jujitsu is the ancestor of some martial arts like Judo.

Personally, among these martial arts, I practised Judo during 5 years and I have pratised Jujitsu for 3 years. Because of my travel in Spain, I have to stop my jujitsu activity in club but I continue to practice a little bit with some friends for the sake of it. However, I want to get down to work as soon as I come back in France to improve my skill in earnest. To learn how to fight is for me a passion and I even try boxing the last year but I have been injuring therefor I'm not able to go on in this sport.
